Mid-South Youth Performing Arts is proud
to announce the formation of the Memphis Sound Alumni
Association.
Two alumnus from the corps have been
selected to be Co-Coordinators of this project, Will
McAlister and Jonathan Annis.
Will McAlister marched in the Memphis
Sound Quad line in 2005 and came back to serve as the Quad
Section Leader for the 2007 World Championship Season. Will
met his fiancé (Ashley Burgess) while marching with Memphis
Sound. Will is a 2008 University of Alabama Graduate with a
BA in History with a Theatre minor. Will currently resides
in Arkansas.
Jonathan Annis marched in the Memphis
Sound Brass Line as a Euphonium player in 2006. He is
working to finish his Bachelor's in Music Composition &
Saxophone Performance from Carson-Newman College. Jonathan
currently resides in Tennessee.
Jonathan spoke about his involvement in
the new Alumni Association by saying 'I am very excited to
be a part of the groundbreaking of the alumni association
and all of the other alumni activities. This will be a great
thing for the corps and I hope it will continue to be a
strong part of the program!'
We are looking for pictures and stories
from each of Memphis Sound's seven years on the field. If
you have pictures or stories, please send them to:

memphisdrumcorps.org on the Alumni Page for updates, new
Facebook pages, and other cool information!
So far the two have been busy in reaching
out to alumni via email and launching a Facebook group

Membership
Membership in the Association is
restricted to Members, Staff, and Volunteer Alumni of
Memphis Sound. Dues collected from the Alumni Association
goes directly into a scholarship fund for current members of
the corps. All
paid Alumni Association members will have a chance to decide
on which students should receive scholarship and percentage
of their dues that are covered.
